10 QUESTIONS WITH NAOMI VICTORIA

Here we are gals with our third blogger interview!

Not only has this gal modelled our CL sweatshirts but she has the dreamiest Insta account EVER! Juggling uni and a fab Youtube channel, we are so excited that Naomi Victoria could squeeze us in for a quick chat...

1. What can we expect to see from Naomi Victoria in the next few months?

Since reaching 100,000 subscribers I've been more motivated than ever to make great content. I’m headed back to university which means I'm going to sort out a proper uploading schedule and a set day to upload on. I want to steer my channel away from doing lots of hauls, and do more vlogging and Lifestyle content which is what I enjoy watching, and filming the most!

2. What is the first thing you consider when working with a brand?

Its vitally important that I like the brand and get an opportunity to test the product before I do any kind of collaboration. I turn down anywhere from 60-90% of the collaboration enquiries I get because either the product doesn't fit my style, Im not a fan of the product, or I don't feel like my audience would be interested in the collaboration.

Ive also found that this *picky and choosy* mentality often results in you getting better quality collaborations and your audience build up a level of trust in what youre saying (so so important). Ive been lucky enough to work with some really great brands, small and large!

3. Who or what would be your dream brand to work with?

I would LOVE to work with Warner Brothers on something to do with Harry potter, Im a huge fan.

I would also love to work with my favourite makeup brand - Urban decay, and if Topshop were to pop up in my inbox I certainly wouldn't be complaining haha.

4. With such an amazing channel, do you ever feel the pressure of juggling Youtube and Uni?

Its a lot harder than people think. A video can take hours to film, hours to edit, and then comes all of the promotion, emails, banking, events, meetings.

Then you add uni ontop of that and youre looking at a lot of studying in the library, lectures, meet ups to work on group work… Its a lot of hours.

I would say a bit of advice for people wanting to do Youtube and uni - Set a proper schedule, edit videos in your free time or lunch break and film on your days off / at weekends.

Youtuber ‘Soph does nails’ is at university and also just released a makeup line with Makeup revolution (wow!) - It just takes hard work, dedication and not forgetting to also study!

5. What are your current three fave channels to watch?

I LOVE Kalyn Nicholson, Shane Dawson and Kalel

6. Are there any Youtubers you would love to collaborate with?

The above three please! I also think Mark Ferris would bring me out of my little shy cocoon and be a great laugh!

7. We're absolutely loving your vlogs - have you had any funny/unusual reactions from people whilst out vlogging?

Yes! All the time! So many sideways glances and confused looks.

I had one person actually say ‘Stop filming me’ when I was vlogging myself (They mustve thought the camera was facing them) but i only realised once it came to editing - whoops!

8. If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

To stop trying to please every single person. There will always be people who like you and people who dislike you for no reason - Just put all of your energy into the ones who matter and love you unconditionally!

9. How do you feel about the way in which Youtubers and Vloggers are portrayed by the media?

Its a bit of a mixed bag. Lots of brands utilise Youtubers and Vloggers to help advertise their products which is great, but I feel like the media is yet to catch up on it all and often portrays it as a easy/lazy job where everybody is making £££ a month for very minimal work. I remember a specific article written about Zoella which was really degrading.

The top tier of Vloggers and Bloggers are earning lots, but isn't that the same in any business? There are also a lot of smaller Youtubers and Vloggers who put in a lot of hard work for little monetary reward, simply because they love doing it!

10.   Current fave CL products?

I love my Palm print macbook skin, Its such a statement and I always get questions on where i got it from!

My sweatshirts are super cosy, and the Leonardo Di Caprio socks always make me giggle.
