When reality TV met real estate. Netflix’s latest original series follows the day to day life of the estate agents of the Oppenheim Group, selling some of the bougiest homes that LA has to offer. The team of women on the show gave us major #GirlBoss inspo: they hustle hard and party harder, and always manage to look incredible while doing it, *mentally takes style tips from queen Christine*. These women won’t stop at anything to make sure they get their listings sold and make sure they get the commission they deserve.
Of course a reality tv show isn’t complete without an extra large helping of drama and within the three seasons, the drama is certainly served piping hot. From weddings, divorces, friendship breakdowns and standard office drama, Selling Sunset has enough to keep you satisfied. With season four rumoured to be on its way in 2021, we can look forward to more explosive content coming soon.
Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Enola Holmes is a must-watch for any woman that’s ever felt overshadowed by male peers. Enola Holmes is quick witted, independent and overall the definition of a #GirlBoss, but also happens to be the little-known sister of famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. After being brought up and taught everything she needs to know by her mother Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter) whom she idolises, Enola wakes on her sixteenth birthday to find she has vanished, resulting in older brothers Sherlock and Mycroft taking Enola into their care.
The movie follows lively Enola on the search to track down her missing mother, all while rebelling against the social demands of women and the restrictions that her disapproving older brothers attempt to place upon her. Despite being set in the 19th Century, Millie Bobby Brown’s familiar face gives the film a modern feel and the message of the story still resonates with a modern audience - to be your own heroine.

Get Organized with The Home Edit is by far the most satisfying series we’ve watched as of yet. The all female team, based in Nashville, takeover and transform neglected areas of their clients' houses. From big name celebs such as Khloe Kardashian, Reece Witherspoon and Eva Longoria, to everyday people like you and me; the series shows we’re all guilty of having that one space in our homes that is in need of a little TLC and a lot of clear acrylic containers.
We can guarantee this series will leave you organising even your sock drawer in colour order!
Released following her seventh studio album, Miss Americana showcases some of the most pivotal moments in Taylor Swift’s career, that shaped her as one of the biggest names in pop - both the highs and the lows and of course, that Kimye drama.
The documentary gives us a raw and revealing look into T Swift’s life in a way we’ve never seen her before, as she finds her feet embracing feminism after a career under intense media scrutiny and based around seeking approval. It see-saws between heartfelt and heartbreaking, with Taylor discussing her battle with eating disorders, her mother’s cancer diagnosis, her allyship with the LGBTQ+ community and finally speaking out about her political views, but ultimately ends with an intense message of girl power. It is eye opening to the reality of the sexism of the music industry and after watching the documentary, we can see why so many young women consider Miss Swift a role model.
Anne is a quirky, red-headed orphan with a strong sense of self yet no desire to fit in. When a mix up occurs and the adoption agency sends a chatty, thirteen year old girl rather than the boy that the elderly Cuthbert’s desired to help them with their farm work, Anne is determined to prove herself as more than capable to avoid being sent back to the orphanage. She insists that “girls can do anything boys can do and more” - the kind of attitude we love!
As girl bosses go, Anne is one of the best and is certainly inspiring to the younger generations. While it takes a slightly darker approach than the 80s series (Anne of Green Gables), the Netflix remake is a feminist affair about a young girl finding her feet after a lifetime of pain and refusing to give in to gender restrictions.
After being dumped by her long-time boyfriend, Jenny (Gina Rodriguez) recruits her two best friends for one last hurrah in NYC before she moves cross country to San Francisco, fulfilling her dream of becoming a music journalist for Rolling Stone magazine. While completely cliché in parts, Someone Great fills the gap in the market for feminist lead raunchcoms, representing women acting outrageously and rebelling against social conventions. Rather than dwelling for too long on what has been lost, the movie focuses on Jenny finding her feet through female empowerment and chasing her dream and highlights the importance of friendship.
