6 hot spots for a flippin’ fantastic pancake day

March 04, 2019

Holy Crepe, it’s that time of the year again! Time to indulge in pancakes for breakfast (and lunch and dinner!) with extra toppings and zero guilt. London’s cafes are stepping it up this year and we’ve found the cutest, most Instagramable hotspots for the best pancakes in the city.

Pancakes. Period.

The Book Club in Shoreditch are using pancake day to raise awareness of period poverty and to normalise conversations around periods, in support of period poverty charity, Blood Big Brunch. They will be serving red velvet pancakes, complete with tampon macaroons and Bloody Marys from Sunday 3rd March to Sunday 10th March. 15% of the profit from each dish will be going to the charity.

What a great cause and a such fabulous way to raise awareness! Book your space online here.

Pop in for pancakes

Where The Pancakes Are are celebrating pancake day at their pop up event at Flat Iron Square with a limited edition dish, A Very Lemony Affair. This divine stack consists for two fluffy buttermilk pancakes, lemon and sugar coated pistachios, candied lemon peel ricotta cream and lemon zested raspberries, all topped off sugar!

It’s a yes from us!

Christophers

If you’ve got a sweet tooth you won’t be able to resist Christophers’ Oreo & White Chocolate stack or their Cinnamon Doughnut pancake stack - they sound incredible! Or, if you prefer savoury, treat yourself to a luxury Butter Poached Lobster & Truffle pancakes (yes, really!). If you just can’t decide, they also offer build your own.

Rooftop pancakes!

Enjoy your pancakes in style by heading to the rooftop at Queen of Hoxton. We’re all about the red velvet pancakes at Lady Celeste’s rooftop hideaway - let’s hope this sunny weather lasts!

They are also serving buttermilk pancakes with build your own toppings stations on the ground floor. Sounds right up our street!

Classic stacks

For dreamy classic pancakes that hit the spot, make sure you visit the Wolseley. They’re all about American style, fluffy, stacked pancakes that will certainly make you miss lunch. If they are good enough for Kate Moss, Madonna and footballers (all known to have visited the Wolseley!), they’re good enough for us!
