Saturday 20th March marks International Day of Happiness. The past year has been especially tough for all of us and serves as a reminder of how important it is to find positive ways to look out for ourselves and others!

Simple actions to keep you smiling

In light of this special day we thought it would be useful to suggest some simple actions for you to take to keep you smiling and spread positivity all round. After all, why choose to be sad when you can choose to be happy!

1. Write down 10 things you’re grateful for and why

Make a daily note of the things you are grateful for and what makes you happy! You can use our desk planners to help you along the way. It can be easy to become overwhelmed with the negatives of a situation however doing a simple action like this can instantly improve your mindset.

2. Make a daily plan/routine

There’s no better way to feel in control of your life than having a good routine in place. This can help you feel organised, calm and in control. Why not add a bit of fun to creating a routine and invest in a cute notebook - we’ve got the perfect selection!

3. Talk to a friend 

Talking to a friend is an instant mood booster so why not do this more often! It costs nothing to pick up the phone and have a good old chin wag plus your bestie is sure to put a smile on your face. 

4. Learn something new and get creative

5. Do something kind for others 

Regularly checking up on friends and helping out those in need is one of the best things you can do to spread kindness and positivity. You could even create a hamper for your bestie just because you feel like it! You could include goodies such as candles, lip balms and scrunchies. 

6. Make time for self care 

Make yourself a priority! Of course, it’s so important to look out for others but above all you need to remember to make time for YOU! Take time out when you need it and remove yourself from situations and people that make you unhappy. You got this, gal!
