Be YOURSELF

This International Women’s Day we are passionate about spreading the message that you are enough and it’s okay to just BE YOURSELF. It’s time to acknowledge the impossible standards put on women. We’ve had enough of the double standards and contradictory messaging girls are constantly told throughout their lives. Being yourself is the only way to be.

Today is all about celebrating the amazing women we are. Celebrating our achievements, challenging stereotypes and striving for equality. In honour of International Women’s Day, let's be proud of the boss women we all are. We want to remind all the women out there that despite the pressure society puts on us to be a certain way, all you can truly be is yourself.

Here are 6 powerful messages we want to share with you this International Women’s Day:

1. TO THE WOMEN...

International Women's Day

We absolutely LOVE this message. Let’s stop apologising for being who we are and start owning being boss women. You can be assertive, a leader, and speak the truth and should NEVER apologise for doing so. Let's be proud to be strong women.

2. WELCOME TO SOCIETY...

International Women's Day poem

This Erin Hanson poem truly speaks for itself. It is the perfect reminder that the unspoken rules of society are holding us back - time to break down these barriers. Only you know what you really want. Time to go get it.

3. @CHESSIEKINGG

Chessie King

Chessie King is the absolute queen of self love and inspires her followers to always love themselves and find joy in life. Chessie believes it is important to embrace your body not matter the shape or size, and we couldn't agree more! Let's start focusing on how we feel, not how we look.

4. GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS MAGAZINE

If you do one thing today, make sure it is watching this video. Chances are you’ve already seen the viral video and its incredibly important message, but we need to keep sharing it with all the women in our lives.

5. SOPHIE ROSE BRAMPTON

Sophie Rose Brampton X Coconut Lane Wallpaper

In 2019, we collaborated with super talented illustrator Sophie Brampton. We wanted to work with Sophie as feminism, womanhood and mental health play such a big part in her designs and they are all things that our brand is passionate about and represents. Sophie has designed a Coconut Lane Phone Case to show support for anyone who might be struggling and to inspire them to take on the world.

6. RUPI KAUR

Rupi Kaur

If you haven't heard of Rupi Kaur, you need to get your hands on some copies of her books. Both of her books have been number one on the New York Times Bestsellers list and it's not hard to see why. Focusing on abuse, femininity, love, loss, identity and beauty, her poems are truly inspiring to women across the world.

This quote is one of our faves. Let's stop looking for validation in others and focus on ourselves. YOU ARE ENOUGH.
